For the crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the filling:
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup toffee bits
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Make the Crust: Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool slightly.
- Mix the Filling: In a bowl, whisk brown sugar, flour, and baking powder. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Stir in pecans and toffee bits.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the filling over the cooled crust. Bake for 25 minutes, or until set and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool in the pan, then use the parchment overhang to lift them out. Cut into bars once completely cooled.
