Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Mix Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternately with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. Add Pecans: Fold in 1 cup of chopped pecans and spread the batter evenly into the prepared dish.
  6. Prepare Topping: Mix the remaining 1 cup of pecans with brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this over the batter.
  7. Bake: Cook in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
