- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with sour cream, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Prepare Pecan Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Layer Batter and Pecans: Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the pecan mixture over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and pecan mixture.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, cut into squares and serve.
