For the fritters:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the vanilla glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, vanilla, and butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients; fold in apples.
- Fry the Fritters: Heat oil to 375°F. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Glaze and Serve: Drizzle glaze over warm fritters.
