- 1 pound spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Cook the Spaghetti: Follow the package instructions to cook the spaghetti until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add the onion and garlic to the skillet with the beef, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
- Simmer the Sauce: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Combine and Serve: Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce. Serve hot, sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
