  • 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Meats: In a skillet, brown the sausage and beef. Add onion and garlic, cooking until soft.
  2. Prepare Sauce: Mix in Italian seasoning, basil, tomatoes, and tomato paste; simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix Ricotta Filling: Combine ricotta, egg, half the Parmesan, and seasoning in a bowl.
  4. Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat, ending with meat sauce.
  5. Add Cheese and Bake: Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for 25 more minutes.
