For the mashed potatoes:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- Salt, to taste

For the ground beef gravy:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Mashed Potatoes: In a large pot, cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- Mash the Potatoes: Add the warm milk, melted butter, and salt to the potatoes. Mash until smooth. Adjust the seasoning and keep warm.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Sauté Onion and Garlic: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Thicken the Gravy: Sprinkle the flour over the beef. Stir and cook for one minute. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly. Include the Worcestershire sauce. Let it simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble and Serve: Spoon the creamy mashed potatoes onto plates, top with the hearty ground beef gravy, and serve warm.
