For the mushrooms:
- 1 pound whole white mushrooms, cleaned
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the cool ranch dip:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Prepare the Coating: In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge each mushroom in this mixture, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the Mushrooms: Heat oil to 375°F. Fry mushrooms in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Ranch Dip: Combine sour cream, ranch seasoning, chives, and minced garlic in a bowl. Chill until serving.
- Serve: Present the crispy mushrooms with the chilled ranch dip.
