Creamy Beef and Shells

Prepare for a delightful meal that combines all the comforting flavors you crave.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 pound medium pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pasta: Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add Spices and Sauce: Stir in the paprika, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth, bring to a simmer, and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Combine Cream and Cheese: Reduce heat to low, stir in the heavy cream, and simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly. Add the cooked pasta and cheddar cheese to the skillet, stirring until the cheese is melted and the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving to add a touch of freshness.
