Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound medium pasta shells
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Pasta: Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add Spices and Sauce: Stir in the paprika, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth, bring to a simmer, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Combine Cream and Cheese: Reduce heat to low, stir in the heavy cream, and simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly. Add the cooked pasta and cheddar cheese to the skillet, stirring until the cheese is melted and the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving to add a touch of freshness.
