- 2 tablespoons butter, cubed
- 1 cup milk, or as needed
- 2 quarts chicken broth
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- Parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add milk, stirring until a dough forms.
- Roll and Cut Dumplings: On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch squares.
- Cook Dumplings: Bring chicken broth to a boil in a large pot. Gently drop the dumplings into the boiling broth, stirring carefully.
- Add Chicken: Incorporate the shredded chicken into the pot and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until dumplings are tender.
- Season and Garnish: Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
