- 12 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon butter, for cooking
Instructions
- Flatten the Bread: Use a rolling pin to thin out each slice of bread.
- Prepare the Filling: Mix the cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Spread it onto one side of each bread slice.
- Make the Egg Wash: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In another shallow dish, combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll Them Up: Roll each slice tightly from one edge to form a spiral.
- Cook the Roll-Ups: Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, then place it in the skillet. Cook until golden on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: Immediately roll the hot roll-ups in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
