- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 3 cups broccoli florets, lightly steamed
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish lightly.
- Sauté Onion: In a skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it's translucent.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the sautéed onion, shredded chicken, steamed broccoli, cooked rice, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, black pepper, and garlic powder until well blended.
- Assemble the Casserole: Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese has turned a light golden color.
- Serve: Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes before serving to help it set up for easier serving.
