- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt

For the spaghetti:
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Start by heating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Meatballs: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form into 1-inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake Meatballs: Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Cook Spaghetti: Meanwhile, boil the spaghetti according to package instructions until just under al dente. Drain well.
- Layer Ingredients: In a large baking dish, start by layering half the spaghetti, followed by half the marinara sauce, half the meatballs, and half the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
