- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine ground chicken, ricotta, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden and fully cooked.
- Simmer in Sauce: While the meatballs bake, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for a few minutes to soak up the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh basil over the meatballs and serve warm, whether as an appetizer or a main dish alongside pasta or with crusty bread.
