- 1 pound ground beef
- 6 strips bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 (16 oz) package tater tots
- 1/2 cup pickles, chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish.
- Cook Bacon: In a skillet, fry the bacon until crisp, then set aside on a paper towel.
- Brown the Beef: In the remaining bacon grease, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Once browned, drain any excess grease.
- Assemble the Base: Spread the beef mixture in the baking dish. Layer with bacon and pickles.
- Add Tater Tots: Arrange tater tots evenly over the top. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Mix and Pour: Whisk together milk, eggs, mustard, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the casserole.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Serve Hot: Let cool slightly, then serve garnished with extra pickles, ketchup, and mustard if desired.
